Early Years Assistant

To meet the needs of an ever-growing waiting list for new starters at King Ina Church of England Academy we are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Early Years Assistant to join our highly qualified team, working under the direction of the Foundation Stage Leader, Owlets Manager and Deputy.

 

Qualification requirement:  The successful candidate will have a minimum Level 2 qualification, working towards Level 3 will be considered, as well as experience of working in a nursery.

 

You will be required to work as part of the Early Years team to provide safe, high quality child care and education by providing challenging and engaging activities. 

 

Responsibilities will include being a key person, therefore applicants must have:

 

  • Good working knowledge of the EYFS
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Flexible approach

Maintenance Operative and Caretaker

Dates:                          9am on Monday, 29th April 2024

Location:                     Somerset

Contract type:             Part time, 15 hours per week term time, plus additional hours as required

Contract term:             Permanent

Salary:                         Grade 14 Point range 4 – 6, depending on experience

                                   Pro-rata based on Full Time Equivalent salary of £23,114 – 23,893

                                   

The Directors are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and committed maintenance operative and caretaker with practical experience who can support and enhance our learning environment and oversee the day-to-day management of the school site, ensuring a high level of safety is maintained.

 

The successful candidate will be required to:

 

  • Unlock the school in the morning before school starts, ensure the site is safe and remains secure
  • Lock the school in the afternoon after school and ensure the school is secured after all staff have left for the day
  • Carry out and record daily, weekly, monthly and termly health and safety checks in line with school procedures.
  • Carry out routine maintenance of fixtures and fittings
  • Advise and collaborate with the Headteacher/Business Manager to develop and improve internal and external areas of the school site

 

The successful candidate will:

  • Have excellent organisational skills
  • Be punctual fulfil 
  • Communicate well
  • Show initiative and work well independently as well have good teamwork skills
  • Respect confidentiality and the potential sensitivities of working in a school, e.g. safeguarding laws
  • Be able to demonstrate in their application that they can fulfil the main duties of the job description and person specification as a minimum

At King Ina Church of England Academy we are looking for a Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to work 27.08 hours per week (8.50am - 12.00pm then 1.15pm  – 3:15pm), Monday to Friday, 1:1 with a pupil with an Education Health Care Plan.

 

The post requires experience of supporting learning across the curriculum and supporting pupils with their social, emotional and mental health needs. 

 

You will:

  •          Be a reflective practitioner
  •          Be solution focused and positive in meeting the social and emotional needs of our young people and open to innovative ways of working
  •          Have the ability, drive and resilience to nurture the emotional health and well-being of young people
  •          Contribute to resourcing of the curriculum
  •          Preferably have successful experience in a school setting
