Hello! Last year, a King Ina Ethos Team began. Children, regardless of background or religion, but who felt they consistently demonstrated our values and who wanted to be part of a team which would develop the Christian Distinctiveness at our school, were encouraged to apply. We had 55 applicants from Years 1 to 5! Fourteen of us (now in Y2-Y6) were successful and we have now got to know each other and are building up our roles gradually. This will include leading worship and school tours, promoting our Christian Distinctiveness as a church school and taking part in very important meetings! One of the things the team has already done is to develop our King Ina Worship Pattern. This is what leaders of collective worship can follow at King Ina - it gives our worship predictability and a pattern, especially for our younger children or those with additional needs - Mrs Salt, our Deputy Headteacher, also says that it helps the leaders who may feel a little nervous standing at the front of our lovely large worship hall. We are looking forward to getting more jobs done and helping everyone in Somerton to hear about how lovely our church school is.
