Wow, what a super week we have had here in Wagtail Class. Our literacy learning this week has focussed on 'Remembrance Day'. The children enjoyed learning all about this and loved the supporting activities in continuous provision. They made their own poppies and wore them with pride. They also attended our special 'Remembrance Day' assembly and participated in a 2-minute silence.
The children have also thoroughly enjoyed starting forest school this week and there has been a real buzz in the classroom about it. They have embraced all activities provided and have all been so excited to share their experiences with others.
In maths, we have been using cubes to practise finding the number that is 'one more' and 'one less' than any given number to 5. In RE, we have learnt all about the Jewish 'Festival of Light', Hanukkah. The children have learnt about the different traditions within this celebration and have learnt all about the 'Menorah Candlestick'.
In phonics, we have learnt our next set of sounds and I have allocated some new games on phonics bug for home learning. You have all worked so hard this week and as always, I am proud of you all. I would just like to thank all Wagtail families for attending parent's evening this week, it was so lovely sharing your child's first term at school with you. Have a lovely weekend, from Mrs Slade
