This week in Pipit Class we have celebrated Science week. We started the week by doing the Skittles experiment which the children were amazed by how the colours met and mixed. In provision, we experimented with the primary colours. They loved mixing colours to make new ones. This inspired our literacy writing for the week.
In provision, we looked at the human body. As a team they drew around themselves and used their phonics knowledge to support them in labelling the body.
In maths this week we learnt about length and height. We drew around our foot and used different vocabulary to describe and compare different lengths. In small groups, they arranged their footprints in order of size by making direct comparisons.
To finish off the week, we observed our Caterpillars at Day 7. The children were shocked to see how big they had gotten in only a week. We wrote some lovely sentences about what we could see.
Well done Pipits for another great week
