Wagtail Class - It has been a busy time here in Wagtails. In Maths we have been learning about the properties of 2D shapes and developing some positional vocabulary. The children have enjoyed exploring shape through; interactive games, printing and creating pictures by drawing around 2D shapes.
In RE, we have been learning about Hanukkah, the Jewish festival of light. The children learnt that during these celebrations, Jewish families light a candlestick called a Menorah. One candle is lit each day. There are eight candles in total. The children then created their own Menorahs and made some 'Happy Hanukkah' celebration posters, using their hands.
In Phonics, the children have been using their knowledge of sounds, to practise writing some CVC words. They have also been practising to read and write all tricky words they have learnt so far. This learning has been carried out through fun activities such as; bingo, painting using water colours and through chalking. They have even managed to squeeze in some Nativity practice..
