Wagtail Class 21/06/2024

We have had a fabulous week here in Wagtail Class. This week we have been looking at transport, past and present. The children have enjoyed exploring a range of photos and listening to lots of stories. This has prompted some wonderful discussions and the children were then able to transfer these into their writing.

The children have absolutely loved maths this week. We have been practising matching numerals to quantity and then focussing on subtraction. We did this visually using pegs and the children then used the pegs to demonstrate their thinking. Some children also chose to independently write some number sentences during exploring for learning time. This was lovely to see.

It has also been really lovely to meet some of the new Wagtail and Pipit children at our stay and play sessions this week.
