Last week we learnt about the word ‘absorbent’. Mrs Hatt’s cat keeps knocking over glasses of water and she wanted to find out which material would be most absorbent. We made a hypothesis and thought that the thickest material would be the most absorbent. We then worked in pairs to carry out an investigation to see how many drops of water could be added to a material before it leaked through. We discovered that the paper towel was the most absorbent, so Mrs Hatt will now use these to clean up after her cat.
